Brandi Rivadulla ~ Tumbling

Brandi is an Arizona native and busy mother of 3 girls. She began dancing at the age of 3 and the passion only grew from there.  She’s trained at several dance studios in the Valley and in Yuma.  Brandi competed in not only dance but as a level 6 gymnast and a co-ed cheerleader.  She has won multiple awards/invitations to perform at various bowl games including the Pro Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl and the Aloha Bowl.  Brandi has 20 years of teaching experience.  This experience paired with her extensive training in ballet, jazz, tumbling, acrobatics, tap, technique, and stretch & strength has allowed her to teach various levels and ages.  In order to better herself as an instructor she recently received a Certificate in Culinary Arts and is currently taking classes towards a Certificate of Nutrition.  Brandi truly loves teaching and being able to share her passion with her dancers.

​​Miranda Felice ~ Princess Ballerinas, Combo, Ballet, Technique and Company Choreographer

Miranda was born and raised in Arizona, and received most of her training in the valley.  Throughout her training, she performed various roles such as: Chinese and Dew Drop Fairy in the Nutcracker, and Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. Miranda has had the opportunity to spend her summers training with American Ballet Theater and Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet.  Miranda was a part of her high school dance team where her love for choreographing began to spark.  When she began teaching dance 10 years ago, she quickly realized her passion for inspiring children.  Miranda graduated in May of 2014 with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Special Education, and now teaches preschool for children primarily affected by Autism.  Now, she is thrilled to be teaching at Nuevolution for her third season.

Valerie Aguinaga ~  Lyrical, Mini Jazz/Tumbling, Stretch & Conditioning, and Zumba

Valerie grew up in California and is trained in Jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, many Latin dances, and has musical theater experience. Kind of a late-bloomer, Valerie discovered dance and competition on her junior-high school drill team. She continued to dance on her high school dance team and joined a dance studio to start her formal training. She danced the parts of "Russian" and "Arabian" in a  production of The Nutcracker and was a lead dancer in a production of The Music Man. When she was 16 she was scouted out by a competitive dance team lead by Laurie Schwimmer (mother and teacher of SYTYCD Season 2 winner Benji Schwimmer).  She was able to travel the country with them, competing, and performing. At the age of 18 she got hired to be a backup dancer and choreographer for Tito Puente Jr. This gave her new experiences such as touring, be on television, and perform. After marriage and four children, she continued teaching. Through the years she started teaching Pilates. Valerie also fell in love with, Zumba Fitness classes and added that to her teaching repertoire. In 2010 she was diagnosed with stage 2 Lymphoma. She won a torturous three year long battle with the disease and was able to start teaching again in 2014. Although the cancer and the treatment had changed her physical abilities, her desire to pass on her knowledge and love for dance remained. “Honored to be among the highly qualified teachers of NuEvolution”, she is glad to be on this new team.

Katelyn Garlock ~ Technique, Musical Theater, Lyrical and Company Choreographer

Katelyn has been dancing since she was 5 years old and received most of her dance training in the Valley. She fell in love with dance competitions at an early age and had the opportunity to learn from some very talented choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Travis Wall, Melanie Moore, Brian Friedman, Stacey Tookey, Tyce Diorio and Mandy Moore. She graduated from Mesquite High School in 2011 as a member of the National Dance Honor Society and a dancer and choreographer for the school’s dance team. While pursuing her college degree, Katelyn started teaching dance and setting choreography for competition teams. In 2015 she graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Elementary Education.  Katelyn believes in the importance of ongoing dance education and continues to study dance at Chandler Gilbert Community College as well as attending master classes with some of the top choreographers in the business. Katelyn is one of NuEvolution’s Company instructors and has won many prestigious awards for her choreography. She teaches Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, technique and Musical Theater.

Kat Messner ~ Technique, Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Company Choreographer

Kat Messner began her Ballet training with Christina Hampton at age 13.  She has attended summer intensives at The Boston Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre, in New York.  Kat competed in varsity hip hop and jazz with Basha High School's Kinesis dance company and graduated as a member of the National Honors Society for Dance Arts in 2011.  Kat went on to attend the BFA program at the University of Arizona School of Dance where she studied Ballet, Modern, and Jazz with equal emphasis.  Kat is also an Actor’s Equity Association Membership Candidate, having earned equity points for her performance in Arizona Theatre Company’s production of The Great Gatsby.  Recently she cast and choreographed a music video for the band Brydes and is curently a member of Rogue Dance Theater.  Today, Kat Messner is a dance instructor and a choreographer at NuEvolution Dance Studio. Kat feels that a positive learning environment is of utmost importance and hopes to inspire creativity in all of her students.

Sal Banuelos ~ Hip Hop/Company Choreographer

​Sal is Co Founder and Choreographer of the Elektrolytes Dance Crew.   Elektrolytes are  season 7 Champs of

MTV's America's Best Dance Crew and just appeared on Season 8, America's Best Dance Crew ~ Road to the VMAs .  Sal had the opportunity to perform with R&B artist Neyo.  Besides being "World Champions representing the US at Hip Hop International,

he has appeared on Disney's "Shake it Up" , The Latin Grammy's performing with LAFMO and has toured the world with the Elecktrolytes.  Sal is also a singer and Martial Artist. Sal continues to share his love of dance with us at NuEvolution, touring with the Elekrolytes, and has also formed the Elekrto Academy.

​Angie Messner ~ Princess Ballerinas, Princess Ballerinas & Tappers and Combo

Angie is Co-owner of NuEvolution Dance Studio. She has been dancing since she was 4 years old and has studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical and contemporary.  She has attended many competitions, convention and master classes throughout high school and later studied dance at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She has choreographed for various events and organizations throughout her dance career and owned and operated a successful dance studio in Virginia.  After moving to Arizona in 1995 she taught dance at Jeanne’s School of Dance, Heat Wave Dance Academy and Gilbert Parks and Recreation Department.  Her goal as a teacher is to build each dancer’s self-esteem and confidence while teaching proper technique.  She especially enjoys working with the very young dancers and feels there is nothing more rewarding than watching them grow from tiny toddlers into graceful and poised dancers.  Her goal as co-owner of NuEvolution Dance studio is to provide the best possible dance training in a loving and nurturing environment.

Sarah Walborn  ~ Ballet, Pointe and Variations 
Sarah Walborn of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania began her training at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary.  In 2007, Ms. Walborn was asked to be an apprentice with the San Francisco Ballet. She performed many roles with the company, including George Balanchine’s Diamonds and Helgi Tomasson’s Th...e Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Giselle and The Sleeping Beauty.  After joining The Washington Ballet in 2009, Ms. Walborn has originated many roles including a world premiere of Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Sueno de Marmol, one of the twins in Septime Webre’s The Great Gatsby, and various roles in Webre’s Alice (In Wonderland).  She has performed with the company in George Balanchine’s Four Temperaments, Christopher Bruce’s Rooster and the staging of Anna-Marie Holmes’ Le Corsaire and Don Quixote, as well as Twyla Tharp’s Push Comes to Shove, and the pas de deux Strangers in the Night, from Nine Sinatra Songs.  In 2012,

Ms. Walborn joined Kansas City Ballet under the direction of William Whitener. S he originated works from Jodie Gates, and Devon Carney.  Ms. Walborn also has had the opportunity to perform the Summer Fairy in Victoria Morgan’s Cinderella, as well as Balanchine’s Allegro Brilliante, Michael Pink’s Dracula, Donald McKayle’s Hey-Hay: Going to Kansas City, and Lynne Taylor-Corbett’s Mercury, which was originally created for New York City Ballet’s Diamond Project.

Christina Hampton ~ Ballet and Pointe

​​Ms. Hampton’s career as a dance instructor has included associations with such prestigious schools as Chicago City Ballet School, School of Minnesota Ballet, Hartford Ballet School, Miami Conservatory, Academy of Ballet Florida, Palm Beach Ballet Center and Jeanne’s School of Dance.  For 16 years, Ms. Hampton has been honored to be a guest teacher for the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) Summer Program, which has been named the best program in the nation and 5th internationally!

​Over her 20 year professional career she was a company dancer with Tampa Ballet, Hartford Ballet and was principal dancer with Minnesota Ballet and Ballet Florida.  She performed works by world renowned choreographers and coaches, including Glen Tetley, Val Caniparoli, Daniel Ezralow, Lar Lubovitch, Sean Lavery, Ben Stevenson, Jerome Robbins, Gelsey Kirkland, Mauricio Wainrot, George Balanchine and Twyla Tharp.
